Open 24 hours, or exported a while ago? Export the stock balance as at a past day and choose that day. Stock recorded in StockView after it isn't counted as a difference.
What your file needs
- One row per item. Any layout is fine; we find the header row.
- Item name or code and quantity on hand are enough to start.
- Add reorder level, unit cost, warehouse and category to unlock alerts and stock value.
- Importing again later checks first: you see every item where your accounting and the warehouse disagree, and choose which figure is right.
Daily routine
Keep doing invoices and purchases in your accounting software. Once a day, export the stock balance report and import it here. Your warehouse records stock in StockView in between.
Stock balance reports exported from AutoCount, SQL Account or Bukku usually work as they are.
Differences history
Rows marked Warehouse kept need a stock adjustment in your accounting software. Not keyed yet rows are waiting for an invoice, DO or GRN; they show again at the next import if they still differ.
People with access
Daily stock report
Every morning at 8am, people ticked under Daily report get the daily stock report by email: what's out of stock, what to reorder and stock differences to correct. No email is sent on days with nothing to report.

Using StockView with your accounting software
Download the guide (PDF)Keep using SQL Account, AutoCount or Bukku as you do today: it stays the official record. StockView is the live warehouse view between imports, and once a day the two are compared so every difference is caught.
- All dayThe warehouse records stock in and out as goods move.
- 5:30pmOnce the day's documents are keyed in, export the stock balance report and choose Import stock. Decide on each difference: Accounting is right, Warehouse is right or Not keyed yet.
- 24 hours?Export the stock balance as at yesterday and import it any time today, choosing End of yesterday. Stock recorded after midnight isn't counted as a difference.
- 8:00amThe daily stock report arrives: out of stock, what to reorder and differences still to correct.
